WSI Expects European Cold to Move Northward in March and Milder Weather to Follow in Spring

Historic Winter Pattern Finally Fades

Andover, MA,18 February 2010 — WSI (Weather Services International) Corporation expects temperatures for the approaching period (March-May) to average warmer than normal across all European locations, except for Iberia.

“After another brutally cold winter month, it appears that the cold will recede back into Scandinavia during March,” said WSI seasonal forecaster Dr. Todd Crawford. “Further, we think that April and May will be characterized by more widespread, above-normal temperatures, especially in northern and western sections.”

In March, WSI predicts regional temperature anomalies as follows:

Scandinavia – Colder than normal
UK – Colder than normal
Northern Mainland – Milder than normal
Southern Mainland – Milder than normal

In April, WSI sees the monthly breakdown as:

Scandinavia – Milder than normal
UK – Milder than normal
Northern Mainland – Milder than normal
Southern Mainland – Cooler than normal

In May, WSI forecasts:

Scandinavia – Milder than normal
UK – Milder than normal
Northern Mainland – Milder than normal
Southern Mainland – Colder than normal
